DIRECTOR OF AUDIT
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY? The Director, Internal Audit Digital Enablement supports the US audit teams, including the bank’s audit team. This role is accountable for the development of data products and services that spans across US audit department and works in conjunction with and under the direction of the Senior Director, US IA Digital Enablement. The role defines, supports and informs business strategies through the breakdown, analysis and understanding of vast amounts of data, both internal and external to the banks Provides engagement and leadership to a development team so they can deliver big data solutions for critical applications and regulatory requirements. Interacts with senior leaders to ensure that business value is being generated from the set of enterprise data services that the director is responsible for.
This role’s mandate is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day leadership, direction, and execution of development initiatives of varying size, complexity and type:
Provide leadership to the analytics solution development team on process and technical aspects, fostering a strong collaborative approach to designing and delivering new solutions
Lead the support and maintenance of Internal Audit’s data ecosystem and data governance
Lead and approve the development of solutions executed by the team including user acceptance and production readiness
Lead the development and ongoing maintenance of project proposals, business cases, roadmap and intake to support the implementation of application development solutions
Collaborate closely with other development groups across the banks to utilize established best practices, processes and methodologies and to leverage and build organizational experience
Coach and develop skills and knowledge of team members, provide constructive feedback and create development opportunities
WHAT WILL YOU DO? Data Solutions
Partner with Internal Audit teams to thoroughly understand business objectives and technology requirements in order to best support and recommend technology and analytic solutions, both current and future
Lead initiatives to help Internal Audit become a data driven organization
Support build and deployment of data products which span web applications, desktop and data science solutions
Support tooling and automation for the DevOps pipeline and various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) activities
Accountable for multiple projects/teams that work across Internal Audit platforms
Determine optimal solutions based on project requirements, identify new solutions not present or build on existing solutions already existing within the bank and Internal Audit
Create and identify innovation and automation opportunities
Accountable for the delivery of business value for the data products and services that the director oversees
Prepare for Promotion to Production: Maintain an outlook on performance and user acceptance testing, understand operational risks and mitigations, account for consistency and contingencies, identify and address concerns and challenges
Create and run Proof of Concept (POC) for new technologies and provide feedback, recommendation and/or final decisions
Lead Audit Data Domain automation for data catalogue, data lineage and data quality integration with CDO data governance platform
Analytics Ecosystem, Solution development and Implementation Initiatives
Develop testing methods for user acceptance and quality assurance as applicable, assist in the implementation of automation to realize intended benefits.
Collaborate with change management owners to identify change impact, risks, and mitigation strategies. Ensure that the approved plan is supported within the team, with stakeholders, and affected employees, and ensure that escalations are handled appropriately according to the approved plan.
Provide ongoing support for processes in production to promote operational safety and soundness and maintain end user satisfaction.
Support and guide IA Analysts and Data Leads in building end to end data pipelines as per IA standards
Innovation
Innovate and automate to simplify support model and enable process efficiencies
Actively pursue innovation and ideation. Present opportunities and proposed architecture to senior leadership and lead the build out of those opportunities.
Actively pursue and lead automation opportunities to drive Audit efficiencies
Manage external vendors, assessing feasibility of potential new vendors, current vendors and sourcing potential vendors based on industry knowledge and existing/emerging technology to support Internal Audit projects.
Continuously look to industry products and trends to assess feasibility within the banks by determining potential use of new products/technology, in part or in whole, to support Internal Audit’s digital road map.
Leverage and build relationships with external product owners to understand potential fit or synergies with the bank’s existing or potential future technologies

Must-Have*
Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field
Minimum of 10 experience in end to end analytic development and in a big data environment
Skills and Knowledge
Extensive experience in a big data environment with a focus on end to end medium/large project development
Exceptional development expertise using Python/APIs/JS/HTML/DAO
Exceptional experience and knowledge of Database technologies (e.g. SQL, Snowflake, Hadoop) and Data Engineering tools (e.g. Informatica Cloud, Dataiku), Data stage and Data Visualization tools e.g. Tableau
Strong knowledge for creation of automated unit tests, integration, end-to-end testing and DevOps practices (E.g. CI/CD).
Familiarity with tools, such as GitHub and Jenkins, as well as software development processes to manage implementation of centralized code and software releases
Strong knowledge and experience with traditional database technology (i.e. SQL) and a strong understanding of data flow and handling
Experience with Predictive Analytics and Statistical Modelling (using R and/or Python)
High level of general management skills, including leading, negotiating, communication and team building
Effective interaction/dealing with senior management and ability to maintain a strong relationship with IA staff, partners and external stakeholders
Strong analytical, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills
Leadership by example in teamwork, cross-unit cooperation and information sharing
